NBA DFS: Anthony Davis and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Nov. 23, 2021

After LeBron James’ confrontation with Isaiah Stewart on Sunday, he has been suspended for the Lakers’ game against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. James has already missed more games than he’s played this season, and had just 10 points in 21 minutes against the Pistons before being ejected. With James unavailable, is it worth paying the premium for Russell Westbrook on daily Fantasy basketball sites like FanDuel and DraftKings in your Tuesday NBA DFS lineups?

When James was out with an ankle injury in October, Westbrook responded with top Fantasy performances against the Spurs and Thunder. In those games he averaged 26.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 10.5 assists. However, when James was out with an abdomen injury, Westbrook’s numbers were all at or below his averages for the rest of the season. So, before deciding on your NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Monday, McClure listed Philadelphia center Andre Drummond as part of his NBA DFS player pool on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: With Joel Embiid (health and safety protocols) out of the lineup, Drummond finished with 23 rebounds, nine points and three blocks to return 49.25 points on DraftKings and 51.1 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Tuesday, November 23 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, November 23

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday is Lakers forward Anthony Davis at $10,900 on DraftKings and $10,500 on FanDuel. Davis has seemingly been on the injury report all year for the Lakers and is listed as questionable with an illness. However, when he’s on the floor, AD continues to put up big numbers. Against Detroit on Sunday, Davis had 30 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks and in his prior game, he finished with 31 points and three blocks.

With James out of the lineup against the Knicks on Tuesday, Davis should be at the center of the Lakers’ offensive game plan if he suits up himself. In the two October games James missed, Davis averaged 32.5 points and 12.5 rebounds with two blocks. When James was out during that November spell, he averaged 22.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Davis played just one game against New York last season and scored 20 points with six rebounds and four assists.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy for Tuesday includes stacking Davis with Talen Horton-Tucker ($5,900 on DraftKings and $6,000 on FanDuel). The beneficiary of an unavailable James appears to be Horton-Tucker, who debuted from a thumb injury to average 23.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in the three games before James’ most recent return.

Horton-Tucker has had a reduced role over the last two games with James on the floor and appeared to be pressing to make the most of his opportunities. He’s almost certainly in line for at least 35 minutes of action on Tuesday, and against Chicago and Milwaukee last week, he played well and averaged 38 minutes per game. The Knicks are a tough defensive team but have allowed the seventh-most Fantasy points to opposing shooting guards like Horton-Tucker.
